The American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) is proud to announce the 2017 Geoffrey McLennan Memorial Award for Advances in Interventional Pulmonology. Geoffrey McLennan was a professor and scholar in pulmonary medicine, radiology, and biomedical engineering, and made significant advances in the practice of interventional pulmonology during his career. Dr. McLennan died prematurely, July 27th 2010, leaving behind a devoted family and countless colleagues and students.

In honor and memoriam of Dr. Geoffrey McLennan, the AABIP is accepting nominations for the Geoffrey McLennan Memorial Award for Advances in Interventional Pulmonology. Nominees should be individuals who are in their junior to mid-level careers (Assistant to Associate Professor within 10 years of completing fellowship) and be judged by their peers to have a high likelihood of continued success and contributions in this field. Recipients of the award will receive an honorarium and an invitation to speak at the AABIP Post-Graduate Course on Interventional Pulmonology at the annual Chest meeting.

Nominations for this prestigious award should be sent electronically to Claretha Bradford (info@aabronchology.org) with the subject line “AABIP McLennan Award.” All nominations should have two letters of recommendation (one from the nominator and one additional supporting letter) and be accompanied by the nominee’s curriculum vitae. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominations will not be accepted after August 31, 2017. Send inquiries to J.
