CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

for the Position of the AABIP Vice-Chair of the Scientific Research Symposium

 

The AABIP Research Committee is accepting nominations for the position of Vice-Chair of the Scientific Research Symposium. We kindly ask the candidates interested to send a current CV, and statement explaining how their strategy will be in parallel with the vision and mission of the association in case they are elected to the position.

The mission of the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology is to advance the care of patients with thoracic diseases through the synergy of innovative technologies, minimally invasive procedures, and transformative education and research.

In keeping with this message, the AABIP board of directors includes a chairperson of the research committee. In addition to supporting the mission and vision of the society, the latter works closely with the chair and vice-chairpersons of the research symposium.

The duties of the chair and the vice-chair persons of the research symposium include the following:

  1. Support the mission of the AABIP
  2. Has a complimentary role to the chair of the research committee.
  3. Organize the bi-annual AABIP research symposium with the assistance vice-chair, and the collaboration of the research committee chairperson
  4. Actively assists in securing funding for the research symposium.
  5. Actively evaluates the scientific merit of the various projects submitted to the AABIP for funding.
  6. Moderates the scientific symposium with the assistance of the vice-chair and a selected team by the symposium committee.
